Novice Teacher of the Year Award

 

The Novice Science Teacher of the Year Award is presented by the ASTA to recognize and honor a science teacher who demonstrated during his/her first three years of instruction outstanding potential for a life of quality science teaching. One award is presented each year.  Nominees must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this award:

  1. Be within the first three years (as of May 30, 2016) of their professional career teaching career
  2. Hold a valid Arizona teaching certificate
  3. Be a full-time classroom teacher at either the elementary, middle school, or high school level
  4. Be a current member of the Arizona Science Teachers Association.

Teacher of the Year Awards:  Elementary, Middle, High School

The Science Teacher of the Year Awards are presented by the ASTA to recognize and honor our colleagues who have completed four or more years of teaching who exemplify quality science teaching. One award from each grae category is presented each year:  elementary level (grades K-5),  middle school/junior high level (graded 6-8), and  high school level (grades 9-12). Nominees must meet the following criteria to be eligible for an award:

  1. Has at LEAST four full years of science classroom experience
  2. Hold a valid Arizona teaching certificate
  3. Be a full-time classroom teacher
  4. Be a current member of the Arizona Science Teachers Association.

Awards will be presented at the ASTA Celebration Social that will take place during the ASTA Annual Conference on Saturday, November 19, 2016. 

Current ASTA board members are not eligible to apply for Teacher of the Year Awards.
