ASTA is pleased to announce the first ever Symposium -- focused on the cross-cutting concept of Energy and Matter: Flows, cycles, and conservation.
Utilizing the 7 principles as outlined by the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy , the symposium will be an opportunity for teachers to learn from scientist and industry experts for each principle.The Energy Literacy: Essential Principles and Fundamental Concepts for Energy Education is an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning about energy for K-12 teachers.
Following each presenter, teachers will gather in grade-level bands to crowd-source ideas and discuss how to teach the concepts to their grade level and aligned with their standards. In addition, teachers will have an opportunity to learn about the free curriculum from the NEED Project (National Energy Education Development Project).
Furthermore, teachers will tour Biosphere II and network with educators from around the state. Register early - limited space!
